The old Fuel Co. combo gas station and restaurant is getting a new sign.
The station, located at the corner of 9th Street and East Market Street, has a Sunoco sign in place and some work is being done to the building.
Fuel Co., the failed business venture by Patricia Kluge, was purchased in July 2011 by local restaurant owner Sam Desai for $580,000 at the foreclosure auction. It shut down in 2007.
A Google search for Desai's name suggests he owns at least two Subway franchises in the Charlottesville area, as well as the 7 Day Junior convenience store at the intersection of Jefferson Park Avenue and Fontaine Avenue.
The future of the building is still unknown.
