The spring snow brought lots of excitement to Washington Park on Monday, where families sledded down the hill for most of the day using sleds or whatever they could find.

A few more inches of snow and another day off of school for kids in Central Virginia.

"I didn't even eat breakfast I just headed right out here and started sledding," said Anthony Bailey, a Charlottesville resident.

Families took to Washington Park to take advantage of what may be the last final snowfall.

"This is like the last, probably the last big snow of the year so we
decided why not," said Nick Sifri.

"It's Charlottesville and we don't really get this much snow so you might as well just go out and enjoy the day and use it wisely," said Gaby Sifri.

For some it was a chance to get another day on the hill but for others it was a first for the whole year.

"It would've been a big goose egg for the year, it was disappointing
that we didn't get out," said Joe Rinkevich with his daughter Sasha. "The fact that school was cancelled this morning and we weren't expecting it, we had to do it so I took the morning off and here we are."

Trudging back up the hill over and over again is all worth it on the way down. As the day went on the snow started turning to mud but kids say as long as there's some snow, there's no quitting on this snow day.
