Shop owners at McIntire Plaza want people to know what they have to offer.
The businesses came together Saturday afternoon to bring more business to the streets with a festival.
The inaugural McIntire Plaza Festival featured an open house for all the businesses in the plaza. One small business owner said she was excited about the event and hopes the festival brings in more business.
"This event is going to be a great way to just show the community what we are all about, what's going on down here," said Melissa Meece, the owner of ReThreads. "McIntire Plaza is kind of tucked away from the downtown area. Sometimes people need to know that there is a lot of fun stuff going on, so we wanted to show that."
There are nearly 75 shops in McIntire Plaza, many of which came out to show off their goods.
