Thursday was opening night for the 29th annual Virginia Film Festival.
The opening night gala kicks off four days of movies, with over 100 screenings going on around Charlottesville and the University of Virginia grounds.
The event featured the film 'Nebraska', a father/son road trip drama headlined by Saturday Night Live alumnus Will Forte.
Forte was at the gala, and says that while the drama was a departure from his typical roles in comedy, it was a project that he fell in love with.
"It was an amazing script and every step of the way it just got better and that's just an amazing experience to have."
Forte's cult classic 'MacGruber' will also be airing at the festival.
