A popular holiday favorite returns to the Paramount Theater Saturday night.
Taking a twist on traditional holiday plays and concerts, Amahl and the Night Visitors centers around an inspirational story. Definitely a family affair, as the star of the show and most of the cast are all kids.
It's focus though is to bring families together and to introduce children to opera in a theatrical setting.
Michelle Krisel, General Director says, "Fabulous turnout the weather didn't keep them away and just seeing the kids reactions. My favorite one "It's over? I wanted it to be longer. Which is what you want to hear from a child. All ages, little kids sitting on their parents' laps and little kids too, so we hope we're turning a new generation into opera lovers."
This was the Ash Lawn Opera's second performance of Amahl and the Night Visitors.
The orchestra and many of the soloists that took part came from all over the country just to participate in the production.
