Orange Co. Community Lends a Helping Hand to 2 Brothers

The Orange County community is giving back to two brothers, who they say give so much to them.
After four months of raising donations, the community was able to buy G.W. and Ben Plumber a brand new van. It's custom fitted to accommodate the brothers wheelchairs.
"It speaks volume of the character of the two young men sitting their nice new van," said event helper Conway Faulconer.
The brothers have muscular dystrophy. Despite limited mobility, they're still outgoing. Their mother, Jane Plumber, had to make many trips often in order to transport both bothers. The new van allows her to take both of her son together wherever they need to go.
Doris Waugh planned the fundraiser.
"I felt myself about to get in trouble and needed a project and I thought this was as good as any," said Waugh.
"It's amazing what a community can do in a short period of time. I had no idea that it would ever happen," said Jane Plumber.
The brothers already know where they want go in their new ride.
"Just go shopping and out to eat," said G.W.
"I'm very excited about it. I can do a whole lot more, sports, games and stuff like that," said Ben.
The community raised $60,000 for the two brothers in about four months.
