United Way is teaming up BB&T to offer free tax preparations to residents.
The Thomas Jefferson Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Coalition, along with the BB&T Bank Bus, will provide tax preparation services at the Albemarle County Office Building at 401 McIntire Road from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM on March 21.
You must make an appointment and bring photo identification (and for spouse if filing jointly); social security cards for the taxpayer, spouse, and all dependents; birth dates for taxpayer, spouse, and all dependents; and all W-2 forms and any other tax related documents.
The free assistance is for families that earned less than $51,000 in 2012, and will be provided by IRS certified volunteers.
Taxes will be prepared and filed electronically on the bus. Refunds will be deposited directly into the taxpayers’ bank accounts at any bank.
