There is a phone scam aimed at the new state tax refund debit cards.
Scammers are calling Virginians, telling them their "Way2Go prepaid MasterCard is locked for security reasons."
Officials say the automated caller then tries to get the listener to give out personal information. The department does not make automated calls or solicits personal information in this manner.
