Charlottesville Police have arrested one man in connection with an early-morning stabbing that sent another man to the hospital.

Police arrested 41-year-old Dominic Jabbara Lewis of Charlottesville and charged him with malicious wounding. Police say he stabbed a 26-year-old man from Charlottesville, who has not been identified, around 2:15 a.m. Saturday on the 1100 block of Fifth Street Southwest.

A police spokesman said the injury stemmed from a fight earlier in the night.

The investigation into the incident continues, and police ask anyone with additional information to call Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000.

Lewis has his first court appearance Monday in Charlottesville General District Court.
