A brief police chase in Albemarle County ended Wednesday morning in a crash.
State Police report that they tried to pull over the driver of a silver Nissan for a traffic violation on 5th Street Extended, but the driver sped away.
The pursuit didn't last long - State Police report the car drove onto Sunset Avenue Extended where the driver lost control and hit a tree.
The driver was taken to UVa Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. We're told that charges are pending.
