Albemarle County Police are keeping an eye on big rigs traveling through Central Virginia, making sure everything is up to par.
Albemarle officers joined Virginia State Police and the Department of Motor Vehicles to inspect tractor trailers.
Police pulled the trucks over and inspected them for much of the day Wednesday in the parking lot of Monticello High School.
The goal was to weigh the trucks and make sure all were in good working order and safe to be on the road. Since the trucks carry a lot of weight, the brakes are easily worn out.
In all, police inspected 17 trucks. Six of them failed the inspections and were taken off the road.
