ACCOMACK, Va. — An arsonist is on the loose on Virginia's Eastern Shore.
Virginia State Police said Wednesday there have been 17 fires set at abandoned structures in Accomack County since Nov. 13. No injuries have resulted from the fires.
The most recent fire occurred early Wednesday near Parksley and involved an abandoned structure. Investigators say it is not uncommon for multiple fires to be set on one night in various locations.
Investigators with the Accomack County Sheriff's Office and the state police criminal investigation office in Chesapeake are seeking the public's help with any sightings of vehicles or people near the torched structures. A reward of $5,000 is being offered by the Virginia Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators for an arrest and conviction.
