A new poll shows the 2013 gubernatorial race is in a dead heat.
On Wednesday, Quinnipiac University released a poll that shows Republican Ken Cuccinelli at 40% and Democrat Terry McAuliffe at 38%.
McAuliffe polls higher with people age 18-34, hold a college degree, women, and make less than $50K a year.
Cuccinelli ranks better with those aged 35 and up, men, and earn more than $50K a year.
Participants in the poll said the economy is the most important issue (37%), followed by education (19%), taxes (15%) and the state budget (15%).
