The Portico Church in Charlottesville officially opened the doors to its new downtown location.
The new campus brings in 700 to 800 members each Sunday. By moving to their new location in the Frank IX building, church leaders are hoping to reach a larger audience and continue spreading their faith throughout Charlottesville.
“This location was important to us because we really had a heart and desire to be a part of the urban ministry in Downtown Charlottesville,” says Lead Pastor of Ministry Justin Conger.
“I think we really have a premium downtown space that allows us to reach out to a lot of folks in the community from Belmont to 6th street, Friendship court, all around this location,” says Matthew Murphy, Downtown Campus Pastor. “We're finally here, we're moved in and the doors are open.”
Portico’s services begin at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sundays at both of their locations -- 1820 Airport Road near Hollymead and 981 Second St. SE in Charlottesville.
