May 15, 2014

The scene is set on the University of Virginia Lawn for Final Exercises, which begin Saturday morning.

The university is adding thousands of chairs, all for the newly-minted UVa. graduates and their family and friends.

Up to 30,000 people are expected to crowd Charlottesville this weekend. Heavy traffic is expected around UVa. Grounds, especially on Emmet Street.

The celebrations begin Saturday at 11 a.m. with a valedictory address by NFL quarterback Peyton Manning. His wife is a graduate of UVa.

Final exercises happen Sunday with a speech by Navy Secretary Ray Mabus.

University of Virginia graduates get their diplomas in separate events.
