Proffit Rd. Bridge Closed for Debris Removal

Sept. 23, 2013

The Virginia Department of Transportation has closed Proffit Road over the Rivanna River for the removal of storm debris.

The bridge is about a half-mile west of Route 20.

Crews will be using heavy duty equipment near the bridge in order to remove debris that has washed downstream during the summer’s heavy rains.

The road is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Detour signs are posted in the area.
