Psychic Festival Brings Dozens of Intuitives, Tarot Card Readers to Downtown Charlottesville

May 3, 2014

Psychic readings, often a controversial polarizing concept, has nothing to do with telling the future.

John J. Oliver, Aquarian Bookshop owner and psychic detective, says it's about getting to know yourself.

Saturday's Psychic Festival hosted by the Society for Awakening Souls at the University of Virginia, was filled with dozens of intuitives, psychics and tarot card readers all donating their skills to raise money for the Mary Duty Foundation to provide scholarships for Native American students

With a topic so controversial, plenty of people are skeptical but organizers say, there's only one way to understand what readings are all about.

"Make a decision on what you experience rather than what you've heard about," said Nick Lasky, founder and president of the Society for Awakening Souls.
