Quinnipiac Poll: McAuliffe Leads Cuccinelli, Both Still Unfavorable

Sept. 18, 2013

Quinnipiac University's latest poll of 1,005 likely voters has Democrat Terry McAuliffe in the lead with 44 percent, Republican Ken Cuccinelli with 41 percent and Libertarian Robert Sarvis with 7 percent.

The poll shows neither major candidate is very popular; 51 percent of those polled have an unfavorable opinion of Cuccinelli, while McAuliffe earned a 38 percent unfavorable rating.

Sarvis is gaining enough support to affect the race.

Quinnipiac’s poll has a sampling error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
