The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office canceled the Redskins’ trademark registration Wednesday, calling the name disparaging to Native Americans.

The Washington Redskins are once again being told it needs to change their name.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office canceled the Redskins’ trademark registration Wednesday, calling the name disparaging to Native Americans.

The team name has been criticized for years and a new campaign to have it changed recently gained momentum.

The Redskins can keep the trademark name during the appeal process.
