Report: Firefighters Did All They Could During Fatal Blaze

April 29, 2014

A review finds that firefighters did all they could to rescue a mother and her two children caught in a house fire on Carriage Trail this past winter.

The report indicates that the fatal fire had been burning for too long for anyone to be rescued by firefighters.

The review says the fire department needs to review its command and communications systems, as well as look into practices for getting water in rural areas when hydrants aren't available.
