Republican Candidate Announces Run for Scottsville Seat

July 30, 2013

There is a new candidate for the Scottsville seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors.

Wednesday morning, Republican Cindi Burket officially announced her intentions to run in the November election.

Burket has a background in law enforcement, and plans to focus on issues such as the economy, the comprehensive plan, and education.

"As far as education is concerned, with my police background, with my law enforcement corrections background, I'm a real proponent of anti-bullying and protecting our kids," says Burket. "So that would be, for me, I'd just be in concert with what those efforts were."

Democrats have not yet announced a candidate for the special election.
