Aftershock from the earthquake that hit back in 2011 was felt around Louisa Co. around midnight. A few people around the area say they didn't feel it, but those that did say that at this point they aren't paying it much attention and they are used to it by now.
Louisa Co. residents are still reminded of the earthquake that hit two years ago. A chimney on a house near Johnny’s Quick Stop was twisted by the quake when it hit.
Residents remember six other times that they felt aftershock, but none of them compare to the damage that was done by the big earthquake
And while some people are becoming immune, one woman says she will never get used to them.
“I felt a couple of them but not as big as last night, last night was a really big one,” says Elisabeth Dunivan. “I was sitting in my chair in my living room and the whole house began to shake from the earthquake.”
“I'm not used to them because when the ground moves I don't think it should be able to move,” says Dunivan. “We're from Louisa, it shouldn't move.”
The magnitude of last night's aftershock was 2.3, the earthquake that hit two years ago was a 5.8.
