In an anonymous email to CBS19, a protester says he hung a sign on the statue of Confederate Army General Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville to make a political statement on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The sign, which first appeared Monday morning taped to the statue in Lee Park, read "Robert E. Lee was a racist and the KKK had his back!" It was quickly removed.

In the email, the apparent culprit said Virginia is wrong to celebrate Lee-Jackson Day, for the birthdays of Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson, because the Civil War generals fought on the side of slavery. Lee-Jackson Day was celebrated on Friday, Jan. 13.

The email also contained indication the Robert E. Lee sign is linked to another political sign that appeared on the Downtown Mall last week. The banner read: "Can't Erase Us, Must Face Us".

The figures in the Lewis and Clark tableau appeared relieved when I drove by this morning.

As cold as it will sound the overwhelming majority of race issues in the country could be alleiviated in a generation if black america would slow down the making of babies in the ghetto. Black america has achieved more and more every year, but the "race" cannot get ahead because the poor blacks keep making babies they cannot afford and are not equipped to raise. How can a 22 year old girl with a 10th grade education raise four children properly? It can't be done. Just because you have the right to make babies does not make it a smart thing to do. So slow down to one and give that child 110% and make a success story. Once that child is out of poverty they can make as many as they can afford. If Black america took this route then they would be a powerful succesful part of american life. The numbers in jail would drop as fewer kids would get lost in the crowd and the inner cities would have more money to spend for kid. I know I will be flamed as a racist, but I have a point. (and poor whites should do the same. If you cannot afford children then use birth control. )

All discourse nowadays is simply dress rehearsal for civil war. My Great Great Grandfather was a veteran of the war of northern aggression, and it looks like My son and I may be too..
