Rolls-Royce announces the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech are joining its global technology network.
The company held a dedication ceremony in the Advanced Manufacturing Lab at the UVa. School of Engineering on Wednesday.
The new partnership with the university is expected to be much more than a teaching tool.
"Not just teaching...We do a lot of research here and manufacturing technology and proportions systems, so really some great crafts and some great PHD students working alongside the company to help us," says Director of R&D Rick Parker. "It's also growing our skills for the future."
Virginia Tech and UVa. can now participate in long-term research and technology programs with Rolls- Royce.
