The Charlottesville Albemarle Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, CASPCA, collected 600 blankets for dogs as part of this years blanket drive. Thursday marked the last day for the event.
This was the fifth year for the event. The City of Charlottesville partners with the SPCA and the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank to collect blankets for dogs and non-clumping kitty litter for cats. The non-clumping litter is used for the large number of cats that the SPCA cares for each year.
Last year's blanket drive raised more than 1,400 blankets for the SPCA.
