The Salvation Army has released the final total for Tuesday night's Telethon. $75,301 came in during the event, with nearly $5,000 of that money coming in the last few minutes, and took time to collate.

The Telethon was put on in conjunction with the folks here at the Charlottesville Newsplex, as well as Monticello Media.

Amongst the last minute donations was $1000 from UVa Head Football Coach Mike London. UVa Lacrosse Head Coach Dom Starsia helped to man the phone banks as well.

The money will be used to help off-set major cuts in Federal money. Winter is one of the hardest times to be homeless and shelters like the Salvation Army are sometimes overflowing.

A big thanks to everyone who donated.
