Search Intensifies for Alexis Murphy

August 9, 2013

FBI Agents and State Police spent Friday night searching a specific area of Nelson County in the search for missing teen, Alexis Murphy. Dozens of law enforcement officers focused their search on the wooded area across from Cannery Loop, not far from Eads Lane.

Around 8:00PM, five search dogs were on the trail of a scent in the woods and about ten police vehicles were parked along Route 29. State police called it "routine".

Murphy told her family she was headed to Lynchburg on Saturday to go shopping. Murphy's car was found Tuesday night parked in the Carmike Theater parking lot. Saturday marks one week since the seventeen-year-old was reported missing.
