A search is underway for a missing teenager from Lynchburg.
Eighteen-year-old Jamisha Gilbert was last seen Friday, and was reported missing on Monday.
Gilbert's car was found abandoned on Friday, Nov. 29, off of Concord Turnpike in Lynchburg.
Her mother, Norma Gilbert-Eldridge, says she knew something was wrong when she hadn't heard from her daughter in days.
"At the scene of the accident there was no blood," Gilbert-Eldridge said. "The car didn't have any the windshield was not crashed like she got thrown out, it wasn't like that. So they're saying maybe she’s hiding out or in trouble for the car and I'm hoping that's what it is."
There are 50 law enforcement officers searching four different areas for signs of the teen.
Jasmisha is a recent graduate of Heritage High School in Lynchburg, and her mother says she hopes to become a lawyer.
