Sen. Warner Reacts to Shinseki Resignation

May 30, 2014

Senator Mark Warner was in Charlottesville on Friday for a campaign event.

He has been very vocal about calling for Eric Shinseki's resignation.

Both Virginia senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine called for Shinseki to step down Thursday.

Now that Shinseki has resigned, Senator Warner says he served the country well but the focus should go toward finding a solution to getting veterans quality care.

"We've got to now deal with the cultural issue...we have to look at efficiency. We have to look at the funding. I hope that everybody who has been concerned will keep the focus even when a new management team is in place. I intend to," said Warner.

Warner also discussed job growth, immigration reform and budget issues at Friday's campaign event.
