Sen. Warner Talks with CHS Students About Immigration Policy

Dec. 12, 2013

Students at Charlottesville High School had a conversation about immigration policy with Senator Mark Warner on Thursday.

Sen. Warner spoke to the students via teleconference. It's all part of collaboration between the high school and a University of Virginia graduate class. They're working to create a curriculum on global citizenship and human rights.

The senator gave an overview of immigration policy and reform.

"It was very powerful and empowering. It gave me the feel that I can make a change and that I am the face of Virginia as he stated," said Gouzal Nazary, a senior at CHS.

The event focuses on policy on the local, state and nation levels.
