Shops at Stonefield Sued Over Stormwater Issues

March 25, 2013

The owners of two shopping centers in Albemarle County are squaring off over water runoff.

A lawsuit was filed Monday today in Albemarle County court. In the suit, the owners of Seminole Square and the Pepsi plant are suing the owners of the Shops at Stonefield, the city of Charlottesville, and Albemarle County.

They say Stonefield's stormwater runoff plan breaks state law, and will illegally dump millions of gallons of runoff on their properties, flooding the sites. Now they want a court to force Stonefield to fix the problem.

The owners of Stonefield have not yet responded to our requests for comment about the lawsuit.
