Some Central Virginian's say they're used to it by now and you never know just how bad the snow will be. That uncertainty, calls for an extra grocery trip every time.
"It's okay, you stock up on groceries, get a bottle of wine, make a fire and you're good to go. Or good to stay, either one," said Margaret Newcomb of Fluvanna County.
Some people say where they live, 8 to 10 inches of snow could mean staying inside the house for a whole week so stocking up is necessary.
But some, are using this grocery trip and possibly being stuck inside the house, as an opportunity to get out of that unhealthy holiday diet.
"We bought over a hundred dollars in groceries. We bought milk, we bought yogurt, salad making things and fruit. Things that we really want to have after the Christmas holiday. We're making up for Christmas chocolate," said Leslie Rittenberg of Albemarle County.
As the essentials were re-stocked for the last minute shoppers Wednesday night, some parents were hoping it snows for their kids' sake but also for themselves, too.
"I just hope we get some snow cause we haven't had any really in 2 years so I hope we get something," said Kendra Taylor of Charlottesville.
There are a few people who say they're so used to the snow-panic drill in Charlottesville but won't fall for it this time.
"People think the world is gonna end but it's not so I think you guys will be fine in the morning," said Dana Washington, a Charlottesville resident.
Whether the few inches will stick or be a big deal, we all will have to see. But some long-time Charlottesville residents say it's better to be safe, than sorry.
