Tommy Wood is a traditional country musician who is inspired by the old-time legends.

"Country music means something real, real life experiences and I try to write my songs and pick songs from other song writers that would describe me as a country boy, good hearted, family, church going man," said Wood.

Wood says he incorporates God in his music and wants to produce music that creates a good, clean and fun atmosphere.

"I have kids and so I try to be an example to them and I just want to make sure that I portray that to my kids and to other people who see my show. We have a family show and it's real nice and everybody enjoys it," said Wood

First time I experienced Tommy Wood and band performing was while visiting Charlottesville from St. Louis Mo area, about a year and a half ago. Have never been a huge fan of country music, but there was something different about his songs and his singing that captivated me that day. His songs "Two Little Feet" and "Piece by Piece" are two of my favorites. Probably have listened to the latter a hundred times over and never, ever tire of his songs. Guess you could say I like "Tommy Wood style country music" because he is in a class all to himself.

Have known Tommy for many years. HE LOVES TO SING COUNTRY MUSIC AND MIX WITH FAN/FRIENDS. HE HAS THE STYLE OF GEORGE STRAIT AND CARES ABOUT PEOPLE. I ENJOY HIS UP TEMPO STYLE AS WELL AS HIS SLOW PACE. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. AS SOMEONE TOLD ME RECENTLY NEVER GIVE UP YOUR DREAM.

RE: JNW, The purpose of this article is to make viewers in this area aware of the abundance of local musical talent here in Central Virginia, and Charlottesville, thus the title "Soundtrack to Charlottesville". It has been running through the month of February, and other singers have been featured each time it runs.
