Six cyclists from the Charlottesville Racing Club took turns riding stationary bikes in front of Blue Ridge Cyclery on Saturday for 'Spin-A-Thon,' a fundraiser for Christmas presents for kids in need.
They are working with the Kids Lift and Toy Lift charities, which help get bicycles and other gifts to kids who might otherwise not receive presents over the holidays.
Bill Scanlon is the Vice President of the Charlottesville Racing Club. He says that it took more than just his group to make this fundraiser happen.
Scanlon says they reached out to several businesses, including Devils Backbone, Shenandoah Joe, Blue Ridge Cyclery, Albemarle Baking Company and Christian's Pizza.
The day long event went from 7 am to 7 pm. They aimed to raise around $2,500.
