The first Spring Wellness Festival at Common Ground Healing Arts is being considered spring cleaning for your body to get ready for the new season.

More than 200 people signed up for events at the Common Ground Healing Arts center at the Jefferson School City Center this weekend.

A full schedule of yoga and meditation classes, as well as workshops on allergy relief, gardening and herbs, all aimed to help members of the community to take charge on their wellness this spring.

"A lot of people look at New Years as the time to do that, but it's so cold, it's so hard to get outside and it's so hard to get yourself going for a lot of us at that time," said Kate Zuckerman, executive director of Common Ground Healing Arts. "But here we are stepping into the warmer weather, and it's a perfect opportunity to do that."

After lots of positive feedback, Zuckerman said they're hoping to do the event twice a year.
