The man responsible for Friday night's nine hour stand off appeared before a judge Monday via video from the Charlottesville-Albemarle Regional Jail.

James Lewis Kardos is being held without bond and is charged with child endangerment grand larceny, malicious wounding and abduction.

It all started on Friday afternoon when police say Kardos assaulted a woman in Charlottesville before driving to his parents' home at Lake Monticello.

Kardos' preliminary hearing is set for April 5.
