A criminal investigation is continuing into an apparent standoff at a Route 29 business in Albemarle County.

Albemarle County Police were on the scene for four hours on Friday Night at Brown Collision Center. Employees say they evacuated the building when a man armed with a gun went inside.

Negotiators were able to make contact with the man and eventually detain him.

The initial call was for shots fired, but police say there were no apparent gunshot victims in this case.

No one was injured, and police have not announced any charges.
