The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative and Champion Brewing Company combined there efforts on Friday for the 'Storm the Bridge' event.

'Storm the Bridge' was a live art project where dozens of people marched from the brewery, under the Belmont Bridge and then to The Bridge. It was themed after the storming of the Bastille during the French Revolution, but instead of a prison of stone, the group stormed a for of cardboard.

The idea behind it is that art is something that shouldn't just be contained within the four walls of a gallery, but should be out in the street. The event also served as a fundraiser for the gallery.

'Storm the Bridge' also helped to debut Champion Brewing Company's new Belmont Brown Ale. The brewery, with the help of The Bridge, polled the community about what kind of beer they should make next, and the brown ale won.

Next First Friday, August 1, The Bridge will be holding a scavenger hunt.
