A multicultural celebration was held at the Charlottesville Adult Learning Center Thursday.
English As A Second Language students shared dishes from their home countries with their teachers as part of an end of the semester potluck.
The program teaches international refugees and others new to America, how to speak English and a lot about our country's customs.
The program director, Susan Erno, says its all about helping students make a life here.
"Most of our adults, they're looking for work. So they're looking for a job or a better job and quite a few look to go to college. They all have great plans."
The program has 260 students and is looking for volunteers to serve as teacher's aides.
