Albemarle, Western Albemarle and Monticello high school students left on buses Tuesday for Tennessee where they will participate in Destination Imagination. The students will present projects which they have worked on all year in front of a panel of judges.

Groups of five students were assigned problems which they then had to solve. The challenges involved creating skits and solving instant problems posed to them by using only their minds.

Emily Schill, a 10th grader, worked with her teammates to build the lightest possible structure which could support the heaviest possible weight. The structure could only be made out of wood, aluminum and glue.

"It's exciting, I'm so psyched. It's the most amazing experience. We went in 7th grade so three years ago and it was so cool," said Schill.

Over the weekend, the students read to children and led arts and crafts at Barnes and Noble to raise money for the trip.
