It's a lesson in managing financial futures to prepare students for higher education in Albemarle County.

Piedmont Virginia Community College hosted its annual Super Saturday event. The school invited high school students and adults to the campus to learn everything about financial aid.

Staff helped students get through the FAFSA form -- the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

Organizers said financial planning for higher education is critical, especially in today's economy.

"The higher cost of tuition in four-year colleges and many other colleges, and finding financial aid to cover the expenses for college for many families is really important," said Anita Showers, a PVCC spokeswoman.

In all, more than 150 people showed up to PVCC's campus to learn more about financial aid.
