Survey Shows Public Support for Governor's Transportation Proposals

January 24, 2013

A new survey released on Thursday says a majority of Virginians support Governor Bob McDonnell's transportation plan.

McDonnell’s plan would remove the gas tax and raise the sales tax to pay for roads.

It was supported by two-thirds of the over one-thousand people who were asked about it in the phone survey. Additionally, most people were opposed to adding taxes and toll roads.
