Suspect Arrested in Downtown Culpeper Shooting

Police in Culpeper are investigating a shooting that left one man injured.

It happened Saturday around 4:30 p.m. at Yowell Meadow Park in downtown Culpeper. Officers responding to the scene found a 29-year-old man who had multiple gunshot wounds. As of Sunday afternoon, there is no update on the victim's condition.

Police scoured the area for a suspect and arrested 31-year-old Christopher H. Jackson of Culpeper just minutes later.

Jackson is facing five felony counts, including malicious wounding. He's being held at the Culpeper County Jail without bond.

Police say this is an active and ongoing investigation.
