A man responsible for a 9-hour standoff in Fluvanna County has pleaded guilty to charges in a Charlottesville court.

On Tuesday, James Lewis Kardos plead guilty to felony counts of abduction, malicious wounding, and abuse of a child.

Police say Kardos assaulted a woman in Charlottesville back in February, and then drove to his father's home in the Lake Monticello neighborhood. A 9-hour standoff with law enforcement followed, until police decided to storm the house and arrest Kardos.

Several charges against him from the Fluvanna County standoff were dropped back in June.

Kardos will be sentenced in December.
