June 17, 2013

A man police say was responsible for a 9-hour standoff in Fluvanna County is expected to plead guilty to charges in Charlottesville.

Police say back in February James Kardos assaulted a woman in the city before driving to Lake Monticello.

In court on Monday, Kardos' attorney said his client will plead guilty to charges this September.

Several charges in Fluvanna County were dropped earlier this month. According to court documents, the only charge remaining against Kardos in Fluvanna County is possession of a gun by a convicted felon.
