One Charlottesville City Councilor announces that she is running to keep her seat.

Kristin Szakos will seek re-election for a second term. Szakos is a writer and freelance editor who has written books about community organizing. She also worked for the Obama campaign in 2008.
Szakos announced on Thursday that she wants another term.

"The priorities I've had all along are really to make sure all voices are heard to city government. That we work on improving education and housing and jobs, and that we hear from the youth in the community and make sure that kids have the chance to not only do well but to let us hear from them."

The City Council election is in November.
