Saturday marks the start of this year's Charlottesville City Market.

Over 100 vendors were out in down town Charlottesville selling home made goods from soap, to bread, to yarn.

Last year the city market building burned down, but that didn't stop the market manager from picking up the pieces and moving forward.

She says she hopes this year will be better than the last.

“We're having a great day,” says Stephanie Anderegg-Maloy. “For the first market we have beautiful weather and lots of new vendors and lots of new products so we are very excited.”

Maloy says the great weather helped bring more people out for the start of the City Market season.

The market is open 7AM to Noon every Saturday from now through December.
