Shoppers will soon be able to find some of their favorite kitchen gadgets from The Happy Cook at Charlottesville's Whole Foods store.
The two businesses announced the new partnership before breaking some bread to seal the deal Saturday afternoon.
The expansion follows a setback for the cookware store, after The Happy Cook was forced to close its doors for nearly a month because of a fire at the Barracks Road Shopping Center.
"This is a great way for an established business that the community loves to be able to find another way of adding to their revenue stream without having to expand their location or start a new location," said Kristen Rabourdin, Whole Foods' community liaison.
For now, the venture is limited to Charlottesville, but the partners aren't ruling out an even bigger reach.
"At this point, we're just trying to do this as best we can for the Charlottesville location, but there has been discussion that, if things go well, there's an opportunity to expand that," said The Happy Cook owner Monique Moshier.
Products will start appearing on store shelves in April. The two stores are also planning some cooking classes and demonstrations.
