Alumni come back for nostalgia and to catch up with old friends, but they don't come alone. The thousands of people that flood into town for the reunions often bring their spouses and kids with them in the hopes of showing them a piece of their history and possibly turning them into future Wahoos.

The focus of reunions weekend is on returning alumni, but it could also double as a college tour weekend for prospective students, led by parents. It's a chance to show future Wahoos where they went to school, met their spouses, and of course, a great place to go to college.

"I love UVA and Charlottesville, and i was so excited to bring my daughter. In 18 years I hope to be dropping her off for her first year in school."

Some parents just wanted to show their kids a piece of their history.

"This is the first time. We just felt the boys would really enjoy it and the weather worked out for us, so, we're excited to be here and show them the Wahoo spirit."

"All my friends are here so it's super fun and i couldn't imagine coming without my baby so i brought her."

And for its part, UVA weekend worth of scheduled activities doesn't forget the kids.

There might be cocktail party and beer tastings for the adults.
But the kids can go to mini-college sessions focused on printmaking and shadow boxes, head over to a kids carnival, or hear a reading of the bedtime story "Goodnight Cavaliers".

And of course, they can play frisbee in the grass.

And for those not quite born yet Wahoos? It’s never too early to show them around for a college tour.

"I don't see how this person has a choice in the matter. Seeing as my husband spent ten years here, and i spent five years here...i think it has to be a ‘hoo"
