Virginia State Police say three young people have died in a crash in Fauquier County.
Sgt. Les Tyler says the accident occurred Tuesday afternoon when a car lost control and slammed into a tree in Bealeton. No other vehicles were involved.
Media outlets report the victims were the driver, 20-year-old Ausha Sterlitz of Bealeton; and two passengers, 20-year-old Calyssa Wickham of Sumerduck, and 16-year-old Michael D. Montessi of Midland.
Two other passengers were seriously injured.
Tyler says no one in the car wore seat belts and speed was a factor in the accident. Some of the victims attended Liberty High School in Bealeton.
